* قال الناقد الدكتور أحمد علي منصور في شهادة نقدية عنه :
«الأمير كمال فرج أسرع شاعر في التقطيع العروضي للشعر، ويعني ذلك مراجعة النص الشعري نطقا أو سماعا، وتحويله إلى رموز لحركات وسكنات مكتوبة، للتأكد من إلتزامه بموسيقى الشعر والبحر الشعري، أو ما يسمى بعلم العروض».

«الأمير كمال فرج يغزل راية الشعر، ويستمر معها لا كلل أو ملل، ولاهم يحزنون، اسمه الأول "الأمير" ..، تتوسم فيه قوة مراس الأدب، وشدته، لأنه يتجرعه فيتسلل من عطاءاته ضوء صارخ يرسله إلى الصبح معصوبا بالنبض والقلب والخفقان.
وهو شاب يتدبر أمر مواهبه، فيقدم لها عرقا مصقولا، ويسمو بها من مجرد فنون أدبية شاملة، وعابرة، وخاطرة، إلى فنون هادفة ومتميزة، إنه يخط أسطورة إيقاع الشباب، في زمن بيضاوي عذب، كل شرائحه ظباء نافرة تتوق للمجد، فيوقظها شعاع مزدهر بالأدب والتقنية، وروايات العواصف والشلالات، يعجبني في هذا الأديب شموخه المتواضع الذي يحكم شد أزره، ويمضى ببقايا الإبداع والابتكار اللفظي في الشعر والرواية والمقال.
ومض كبير يحمله «دماغ»الأمير كمال فرج، لكنه أيضا مسلح بالثقة في كل الأشياء التي يخطها، ولديه مناعات كاملة لحمى التنافس في هذا الزمن، وبعطر رجولي ترشفه الآفاق. إليكموه في مواضيعنا الفكرية والتلقائية يمسحها بعينه وفكره، ويهديء روعتها».

* قال المفكر الدكتور محمد عثمان الخشت رئيس جامعة القاهرة :
