“Honor” is of a great value to the Arabs, and there are many evidences from poetic, prose, and oral Heritage that which emphasizes its value beyond the physical meanings. Honor means manhood, good reputation, generosity. An ancient poet once said : the high honor sometimes is harmed, but blood is worthy to be shed for its sake.

In Arab history, many of the crimes were committed in the name of honor, the Caliph  Mutassim announced war on Rome response to the woman molested by a man screamed asking the help of the Caliph. And in the archives courts are full of cases of betray ; in which the husband saw his wife betraying him or even just in his mind and imagination, it was the " Crime " already is the traditional solution to remove the shame of men.

The traditions and customs were always confirming this tragedy, they always find excuses for the criminal of the “honor crimes”. It has been reached in some countries that the man is allowed to kill his wife or sister if he knew that she committed adultery. He is released free even without a trial.

So, the Fatwa announced by dr. Yasser Borhamy - in which he allowed men to leave their wives if they , the wives, in a critical situation and he may be subjected to be killed; he -the husband- is allowed to leave his wife for the rapists and flee. This Fatwa was a strong shock.

In another fatwa related to the subject he announced before that killing in the case of adultery is not allowed . The fatwa allows men to leave their wives if they are about to be raped - the women- and flee if the husbund feels that his life in danger.

On the other hand, he - Borhamy- announced that the husband has no right to kill her if he saw her sleeping with a lover and having adultery.

He forgot the hadith of the prophet that encourage the bravery to protect your wife , and in case of being killed; the victim became a martyr.

His fatwa, whatever he may say to relieve its meaning, indicates his lack of honor and manhood. After 1500 years of speeches about the Arab honor and thousands of innocent women who were killed accused of adultery and doubting their Chastity and honor. After all these years, Borhamy comes to tell us to let it all go and take it easy !
This shameful fatwa is added to the list of the strangest disgusting fatwas that were announced recently such as that fatwas that forbid Yoga, and forbid eating cucumber and bananas !

This fatwa of the pediatrician Borhamy - who has lost his mind for sure- has raised some controversy concerning some issues. The first issue is represented in the main concern of the minor religion scholars and attract them to play with the minds of the poor ignorant people .

The second is This fatwa was as a Platitude for the high rank of honor to deceive people, and present for the society a new kind of Hypocrites who show their care for being the first one in prayers in masjids, but after the prayers are finished they are back to their dirty business of all kinds.

The third is the schizophrenia of the Arab people, which makes them ready to commit any crime defending his honor, at the same time humiliating others. The fourth issue is the continuing oppression of women in the name of customs and traditions.

There is also the false heritage that we gained of mere lies that we invented ourselves out of myths and imagination , and by the time we imagined these lies religious, but actually we invented them.
