Writing is some thing in the human nature, exactly like talking, eating, feeling pain, hungry or thirsty. If it vanished from our life, it would have no sense. By writing we express our feelings and record our memories. So, it is important to write, no matter what to write; it may be an essay, some romantic thoughts, diaries, a balance sheet of things you bought from the market. The most Important is the act of writing itself, no matter what to write, even it were scratches with no sense.
In this age, the age of technology, people don’t use writing any more, it is displayed by the electronic writing and chatting, pens and papers have no place these days.
With this huge technology, I imagine that after few years; pens will disappear and the industry of papers will be vanished, and the newspapers will be considered as a primitive invention. Pens will be found only in museums like papyrus papers and the ditch reed sticks “which were used by the ancient Egyptians as means of writing”. It will be put on a glass sheet with a note saying that: “a primitive means of writing which was used by our fore fathers in the 20th century”.
Also the Arabic calligraphy will disappear, and the calligrapher will be a mere folkloric craft like the products made of palm leaves or earthenware, “Egyptian folkloric products”, which are admired by the tourists as a beautiful hand-made products.
Writing by hand will be displayed by using the key board and the electronic signature. Also the feelings and pains which were expressed by writing will disappear, and there will be no postman, no stamps, no post marks, no post offices any more.
Writing is in danger day after day; it’s going to disappear within few years. It will be found only in the historical museums. The man will be like the machine, there will be more and more satellites. The world will be harder and harsher than today.
We should call for an international invitation for writing again, and every one should contribute; the kids, the youth, the old, mothers, fathers, etc. every one should contribute to save writing from the flow of technology that changes every thing in our life.
