A professor of a GCC university put a picture of the Egyptian president Mubarak with a gallows around his nick, like Sadam Hussin, and then he asked the views of the people and what they think about the picture. And then every one began to curse and assault the president. I don’t know why a citizen of the GCC countries may care about the Egyptian president or what happens in Egypt. Why don’t them pay the same attention to what happens in their own countries and care about their own business and exert the same effort or even to pretend to exert an effort for their countries. Of Course they can’t, because if they did, they would involve themselves in serious problems.

I read about this subject before, an essay written by a Gulf writer who expressed his wondering about the intense interest of some Gulf citizens about the departure of Mubarak and their care about the cases of the other countries, While they don’t pay any attention about the cases of their own countries.

Many people are exposed to oppression, repression, and dictatorship from which they suffer in their own countries, so they work on the Cases of the other countries as if they were revolutionaries. Some people cannot criticize freely the policy of their states, so they seek for compensation in criticizing the policy of the other countries. This is a unique schizophrenia that distinguishes the Arab citizen.

The Egyptians are a great people , they revolt against dictator ship and the dictator ruler , and practice all the means to criticize his policy beginning with humor and jokes , passing through press and analytical studies that discuss the corruption of the ruler and his family .

The Egyptian people are the most democratic people even if they were prevented from practicing this democracy. But they practice on public, no secrets, no stabling in back. The Egyptians struggle all the time to overthrow the dictator ruler , but when they succeed to overthrow him , they express their good bey by a salute as they did with the king Farouk , the navy greeted the king by shooting 21 bullet on air as military greeting .


Egyptians fight with honor and valor , they have the noble character of knights who greet their enemy after winning the battle , just as the Italian    leader who expressed his respect and greetings the Libyan revolutionary Omar Al-Mokhtar after arresting him.

These are the values of the Egyptian people who had always been an honest fighter through ages.  And they are the same values approved by Islam about the revolution against the ruler only for the obvious infidelity, Islam also forbidden torturing the prisoners and ordered to treat them well. Not only that , but also ordered to release them , like what had happened after invading Mecca , when the prophet Mohammad , best prayers be upon him, told the crowds of prisoners : " you all  are free " .

After all, the Egyptians will never abuse their president Mubarak, and of coarse they will never kill him as did the Romanians, who killed their president: Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife without a trial, or as did the Iraqis when they hanged Sadam Hussin on the morning of Eid-Al-Adha after an unfair trial, confirmed to be unfair by the whole world.

Despite the state of injustice that dominated the reign of Mubarak, the Egyptian will never let some thing wrong happen to him in the end. He was, whether we like him or not, the symbol of Egypt. As well as he has many defects, he also has many achievements. The judiciary alone is entitled to consider the violations of his era and responsible for fixing them.

I often wonder about the reason of the intense hatred for Mubarak, not by the Egyptians but by the Arabs  in general . It was the hatred for Mubarak , in some times , the result of decisions with both Arab and national dimensions , such as the gas export to Israel , building the separation wall between Egypt and Gaza , and also his leadership of the so called confederacy " Moderation " , against the Iranian Shiite alliance which includes the Lebanon " Hezbollah " alliance , Syria and Qatar .

So , it was natural for the supporters of the Iranian alliance to hate the president Mubarak , As long as any one adopt as view , their will be some who support him and others who hate him . If you want to be liked by every one, so do not adopt any view, just stand on margins of history, like the hypocrites who have no effect.

The Arab people are so emotional; they care only about titles and addresses without paying attention to the content. When checking out, with more accuracy, the decisions that were considered as condemnations for President Mubarak, we will find that the president had no thing to do with such decisions.

We should understand the circumstances that lead him to make such decision. For example, the gas export to Israel; at the first glance this decision is considered to be a betrayal to his nation. But with some information, we will discover that the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty provides Egypt's commitment to sell gas to Israel at preferential prices. The decision then was among some clauses of the convention, Egypt had gained a lot after this treaty, and the most important of them was release of the land.

Many of the decisions president Mubarak made and we considered as betrayal in the Arabs ' point of view can be justified , and we should seek an excuse for the Egyptian regime , an excuse for taking part in building the separation wall , standing against Iran , and finally the close relation with America and Israel. What I would like to point out here is that the ideas of people are not always true, but in some cases, or even in many cases they lack the true information.

Despite the defects of Mubarak ruling system, there are many Egyptians who love him and cry for him, and this is natural. This matter is so far from what media means propagate for concerning the supporters of Mubarak are the supporters of the NDP, national Democratic Party, or thugs. There is a huge number of Egyptian citizens support the president and remember very well his achievements , including my barber who expressed his love towards Mubarak warning us that we are going to lose him and his wisdom , even the method he delivered his speech , we will miss him and regret his departure as did the Iraqis when they lost Sadam Hussin .

Of course the Egyptian regime bears a lot of responsibility among this huge hatred not in Egypt , but also in the world in general . And this is because of its ministers of foreign affairs who failed all the time to explain its real situation.

The Arabs have along history full of murder , lynching , destruction , and extermination the opponents , but Egypt never did that , Egypt will hold fair trials with the help of fair and honest law .

Although the sins of Mubarak and the Egyptians' long suffering because of his wrong policy , despite all these kinds of insults they gave him and the angry cartoons that describe him as a monster , the Egyptian people will never accept anything less than a graceful farewell for their ex-president .

At the moment of the Mubarak departure, the Egyptians will raise their wounded hands to express their sadness. The soldiers will shot 21 bullets in air as a final greeting for the president, just like any noble knight before his defeated leader.
