Van Cleef & Arpels High Jewelry Maison celebrates the art of fine Jewelry for the fourth consecutive year at the VI edition of the most anticipated art exhibition in the Kingdom, 21,39 Jeddah Arts. Organized by the Saudi Art Council from the 5th to 8th of February 2019 in the city of Jeddah, this year’s event under the theme of “Cross Over” aims at featuring more than 30 local and international artists, staging numerous artworks of sculptures, paintings, audio-visual installations and inviting guests to attend a number of interesting exhibitions, workshops and educational forums.
Whilst shedding light on the very secretive realm of Jewelry and Watchmaking, the French Maison will be illustrating the remarkable craftsmanship and savoir-faire of the its Master Jewelers at a special exhibition, “Beyond Each Masterpiece: The Golden Hands”, through a series of 9 short films of the Mains d’Or™. The Golden Hands (Mains d’Or™) is a Van Cleef & Arpels initiative that pays homage to the expert hands of master craftsmen: the designer, mock-up maker, jeweler, stone-setter, stone-cutter, polisher and sculptor-engraver master.
In a pop-up within Van Cleef & Arpels booth, videos of the legendary crafts exhibited at “The Golden Hands” will be played showcasing the countless hours of meticulous work and the ancestral expertise of the skilled hands of craftsmen who use their expert and knowledgeable to interpret inspiration and give life to each jewel. These films will take viewers behind the scenes in the world of High Jewelry to discover the men and women who breathe life into Van Cleef & Arpels' virtuoso creations whilst transcending daily challenges to create timeless pieces.
