Al Qasimia University (AQU), in collaboration with the Labour Standards Development Authority (LSDA), celebrated the graduation of the inaugural batch of labour management training programs. These programs, recently launched as part of AQU and LSDA's joint initiatives, aim to develop national leadership in the labour sector and create an appealing work environment in the Emirate of Sharjah. The collaboration, outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding, emphasizes cooperation in training, qualification, and human resources development. The graduation ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Chairman of LSDA; Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of AQU; Sheikh Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, LSDA Director; Professor Atta Hassan Abd Al Rahim, Director of the AQU Center for Continuing Education and Development; LSDA officials; and AQU faculty and staff.
The ceremony marked the completion of three training programs in labour management, labour accommodation management, and labour crisis management, offered by the AQU Center for Continuing Education and Development. A total of 69 government and private sector employees successfully graduated from these programs, equipped with the necessary skills and competencies to excel as labour management specialists within their organizations.
In his address, His Excellency Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Chairman of LSDA, congratulated the graduates and urged them to apply the knowledge they gained to enhance their work environments. He highlighted the uniqueness of the labour management training programs, emphasizing their significance in training and qualifying national leaders in the labour sector. Al Qaseer also underscored LSDA's commitment to training and qualification to meet the evolving needs of the labour market.
Al Qaseer stated, "At the Labour Standards Development Authority, we are dedicated to establishing foundations and standards for training and qualifying labour sector professionals, in coordination with relevant authorities and universities. Focusing on training and acquiring new skills in labour management enhances the efficiency, competitiveness, productivity, profitability, stability, and adaptability of your organizations. This, in turn, allows them to become more innovative, productive, and profitable." He expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for establishing the Labour Standards Development Authority. Al Qaseer also extended his thanks to Al Qasimia University and its Center for Continuing Education and Development for their dedicated efforts in training the graduates. He encouraged government and private sector officials to support their employees' enrollment in such important training programs.
Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of AQU, congratulated the graduates and wished them success, urging them to apply the skills and training they acquired at AQU to improve their work environments. He emphasized that these programs were the result of partnerships between AQU and the government and private sectors, aligning with the university's mission to qualify national human resources and foster an attractive and sustainable work environment in line with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah.
In his remarks, Professor Atta Hassan Abd Al Rahim, Director of the AQU Center for Continuing Education and Development, commended the graduates for their efforts and their dedication to acquiring knowledge and skills in the field of labour management. He thanked the faculty and trainers for their unwavering commitment. Al Rahim reiterated the center's commitment to continue offering training programs in labour management in collaboration with LSDA.
Omar Saif Al Naddas, speaking on behalf of the graduates, congratulated his fellow graduates and expressed gratitude to AQU and LSDA for launching these distinguished programs. He emphasized the importance of the knowledge they acquired in promoting effective labour management within their organizations.
The LSDA Chairman and AQU Chancellor concluded the ceremony by honoring the participating institutions and distributing certificates to the graduates.
